- Artist-Signwriter was born 1946 in Sydney,Australia.Aged 17 Bill completed a 1yr Art-Still Life night course at the East Sydney Technical College,& during the day was attending a 5yr Signwriting apprenticeship course at Sydney Ultimo Technical College.Bill completed both courses & went on to work under Master Signwriters Bill Ellison at Maroubra & Harry Templeton at Beverly Hills.In 1967 Bill started his own Signwriting business in Wollongong,which went onto being a very successful business.In 1980 Bill taught a 4yr Signwriting day course at Sydney Tafe,whilst teaching a 4yr night course at Wollongong Tafe.In 2009,Bill finally retired from the sign game & has put his new found time into becoming a full time Hobby Artist.Mainly focusing his works on beach-sailing scenes,sporting legends,rock'n'roll icons & mordern realism,Bill still continues working with materials such as Acrylics,Oils & Enamals which he knows and loves best.Canvas being his 1st choice,Bill still isn't afraid to pull out the old sign brushes & to paint the odd sign or mural here & there if it's called for.Feel free to check out Bill's works and don't hesitate to contact him at... billynricky@live.com.au
